Subject: RE: Corn stoves.

Find a St. Croix brand stove, top of the line!!!! I've had other brands, they all suck, St croix is by far the most user friendly. I paid $400 for mine because it "didn't work" per the seller. I cleaned all the soot out of it, worked great.

I have been using bin run corn for over 5 years. Some as high as 20% moisture, trick is to not slug it with that high of moisture corn. The hopper sits right next to fire box so if you blend it right, the heat will push the moisture out before it gets to fire box. It DOES NOT like fines, too hard to push air through and will snuff out fire, I use about two 5 gallon pails of corn a day. Shut it down every Sunday for a good cleaning. The clinker is the biggest pain in the but with burning corn, and all other stoves have a terrible design for clinker remover, except the St. Croix. Mine also has a negative pressure fire box, so very little smoke and ash get into the room.
