I've had a corn stove since 2005. For mine, the cleaner the corn the better. Sometimes stalk pieces cause me problems by getting wedged in the auger, which then restricts the corn flow and my stove will not burn as hot. Lots of bees wings cause the inside of the stove to need cleaned faster. Most years I run my corn through my little grain cleaner. Usually run mine on lowest setting. Burns probably 1 1/3 five gallon buckets a day.
