NW MN | The whole “take home pay” vs “total cost to the company” is often used by both sides to muddy the waters in union negotiations.
Each side will take their chosen number and compare to another industry often using the other number as a comparison.
Last week an auto executive made the comparison of a union employee total pay of high $1xx,xxx compared to a salary of a teacher or firefighter being $60,000 to $70,000. He purposely left out the total pay of a firefighter or teacher and used the lower take home pay.
Union will compare CEO to avg union worker instead of avg management or other salaried employees.
It’s all PR and purposefull misdirection. | |
