Benefits are like government control of your health choices, ever since Healthcare became a benefit the cost has gone out of control because their is no restraint like if you had to pay it, you would squak and fight to get things done more reasonable. Now no one cares or only care until the deductible is met.
Same thing with income tax and social security. If people had to pay their taxes at the end of the year, they would be out in the street upset with how the government is spending their money. But since it is deducted they aren't smart enough to be angry about it and are happy when the government sends them a refund. Then they are angry at the employer for not giving them enough take home pay instead of being mad at the government for taking too much of their miney. I think some are stupid enough to be mad at the employer for the taxes taken out and don't even compute it is actually the government.
I also think this was all by design. |
