We had some brome baled into small squares and then stacked in a barn loft. After the first year of storage we only use a few bales of it per year. The first five years it was good hay, but by the 8th year it wasn't any good anymore.

For the most part hay that has not gone bad within 2 months will be good for several years, if stored inside a shed.
