Subject: RE: Bean yield report and double crop

Latimer, Iowa (north central)
Honestly I think the dry conditions helped yields. We are heavy glacial soil and the low areas that are typically too wet are the best parts of the field. The regular ground seems to be yielding normal but have seen 100 a few times in the muck that is generally drowned out. I only plant 2 varieties of beans, 800 ish acres of each because I get seed in true bulk semi loads, and seed size is similar to normal. I guess I do have one box of channel somewhere just as a comparison. They were $16 a seed into more expensive so better be good. My usual varieties are golden harvest beans that are very large seed. Grown and cleaned local to the area which I think makes them adapted.
