South Central MN | That looks like a virus, they sort of survive but the squash will be all disfigured, green blotches on yellow squash or vice versa, full of bumps... Commonly spread by squash bugs.
Bad news is don't plan on planting other squash near that spot for a few years at least, apparently it can survive in the soil and infect future plantings.
Seen that in some squash the past few years usually the summer squash types, this year it looks like they escaped trouble but are struggling for water instead.
Edit to add that if you decide to pick the squash from those, do it after handling the healthy ones. If you use a knife to cut the squash off the stem you can spread the virus if you harvest an infected one before a healthy plant.
