I am not an elevator operator, but...
If I am going to store corn for you, I am going to charge most of what I think you will make in profit from my facility.
If I cannot get some one to pay the storage fee I want, then I would buy corn to fill my space.
In other words, my space should make x amount of $$$. Since it is my space I feel I should keep most of those $$.
