Subject: Load out off of bud box width???

I am making a bud box for loading out that will mainly be used for loading fat cattle onto semis. The alley I am running the cattle up to will be ~40' long due to other buildings. I was originally going to make it 10' and have it work down to single file. However I am not a fan of swinging a 10' gate into the bud box and I am really leaning towards the idea of making the whole 40' run either 6' or single file. I figured I could possibly be able to move them along without getting in the pen with the animals. Does anybody have any thoughts or experience. Also what is an ideal depth for loading semis with 15-18hd of fats in a compartment. My bud box is already set at being 12' wide. I have panels laid out for 30' but that feels like it might get tight when loading the belly or top deck of a truck. Thanks for any input in advance.
