They just throw the label on what they FEEL is more drought tolerant genetics, and then charge more for VT2 droughtguard over regular VT2 hybrids.
You will find those hybrids won't be available in just "VT2" as its just marketing, They however will usually be as STAX because $.
So I assume the OP is comparing 2 different hybrids.
They don't actually insert kochia genetic material into the corn to actually make it more drought tolerant, you know something that would actually be useful to the grower.
Unfortunately they are too busy finding ways to "farm the farmer" instead of actually doing honest work breeding new stuff that works.
