As the days shorten the leaves stay moist much longer than say July.This enhances the chances for a good foothold of leaf’s disease. Here it’s nearly impossible from sept 15 on to keep vine’s healthy with out fungicide,bacteria is main cause of what you have I believe and a fungicide won’t work but copper based products work ok on bacteria issues. These bacteria love long cool nights,,
