What's the point of the cover if terminated early? If terminated in the leafy stage it breaks down quickly and leaves very little cover for big spring rains. If you let them get big and terminate at planting they kill the crop with shade and the allelopathic effect. The wetter it is the harder it seems on the crop here dryer we get we get along better. After running covers for 15 years we have dropped 90% of them. Run them on steep slopes and around waterways and let rest go. Having fields burned down and ready to go for a timely spring has been the biggest roi.
