Bingo. Tax when you sell the land. More tax on the CD interest. With no deductions if youre not farming.
And maybe the $20,000 land isnt paid for?
Its not always as rosy as it looks by selling out. Farming has been a very profitable ride.
If you sold the land 10 or 20 years ago Im not sure you wd look real smart right now.
