East Central South Dakota | I see your point, but I personally think there is a lot of difference between taking land out of production for 20 years to generate electricity instead of food. In biofuels you still get a crop every year with the land staying into food production. I want and am planning on my farm being around for another 125 years, so land coming out of production would benefit me, but I still have a foundation built in stewardship of the land and solar fields built on class one or two soils is hard for me to accept. Just a "me thing" I guess. |
