At 24 with a good job and that opportunity, you can afford to take some risks assuming you're keeping the job. No mention of wife and kids, so that's not standing in the way of long hours after work. Assuming you are in a dryer part of the country, it's not as narrow a window to get stuff planted or harvested as it can be in wet areas. That said, it would still be reasonable to take on part of the ground to ease into it. Don't buy equipment too small though. Is your grandpa still around? how long since he was actively farming? | |
