S MN | First you should speak with your family to see if that is something you want to do, and if they want to rent it to you. second, as the other poster said you cant get all equipment at once. I would try to work with the current renter. No one wants to lose rented land, but if there is a slow transition where you can start with 200 acres, then 400, then 750, then 1000. It would allow them to continue to gain custom income off the land even after you start farming some of it. I think most rents would understand when a next generation wants to come home. | |
