I've been through there multiple times going north on 65. Missouri River bottom land where the bottom is VERY wide compared to other areas along Missouri river. Malta Bend is a small town on US 65 and on the far side of the bottom away from the river. Marshall is the closest "city" to the south. Seems like a town in long term decline from the looks when I've been through there. They used to be in the same 1A size high school conference with us for a few years some time ago.

Edit to add: Yes there is an ethanol plant there in Malta Bend that buys corn direct.  You can check bids on their website.
