Main by product is soybean meal, 48# of meal per bushel of soybeans. Current soy meal on CBOT is $390.50 per ton. This equates out $9.38 of soybean meal and 1.5 gallons of biodiesel from each bushel.

Currently, I would not call soybean meal a “byproduct” of soy oil. It’s a higher % of the value than the oil.

Where do you suppose demand will come from for the extra meal?

Or will meal become a real by product, meaning it’s gonna be priced cheap to get rid of it?
