West of Mpls MN about 50 miles on Hwy 12 | Yup...the near record snow moisture that didn't run off was all used up by late May here.
No rain in June and the moisture from a record hail event mid-July didn't improve the drought map conditions in my backyard at all. And contrary to market talk opinion, the moisture from the July hail event didn't do anything to improve crop conditions and yield potential here.
I consistently raise 180+ bushel/acre corn here...other MN farmers are going to have to make up for my slack this year for MN to reach the USDA 2023 guess of 180 for MN.
I consistently raise 50+ bushel/acre soybeans...other MN farmers are going to have to make up for my slack this year for MN to reach the USDA 2023 guess of 50 for MN.
Hoping for another winter like we had last winter here...again. |
