south central WI | The bigger the better, but the smallest one would work for those acres (of the newer models). Our first one was a 7280 and we did 500ish acres of corn silage and 600 of hay 4 times a year. Traded for a 7380, and last year went to a 9900. The extra power is nice and I can get done in a couple days vs a week+. A 7180 or 7280 or comparable somewhat older Deere or class would work. Go with the dealer who knows what they are doing and carries parts for your machine, and probably has a machine on hand to use during the big breakdowns.
If you want to speed things up, take roofs off or better yet trade for even bigger wagons. | |
