Subject: planting hay after corn?

s.e. Pa
The last few years i have been planting some hay after soybeans, cutting it one time and planting soybeans again. Its worked pretty well, but messes up my rotation a little. How could i manage corn stalks well enough to plant hay after corn? I assume stalks would need buried with a plow, no matter how many passes i made with a disc or VT there would just be too much residue left? Even if i could get the hay established i might rake up too much fodder in the hay. Would a disc chisel do it? We have an old moldboard plow but im not sure it could handle heavy corn stalks, and i don't have much interest in trying.
