When our boys were in high school the all ran cross country and now we have two grand children running. 

I always enjoyed watching the races and seeing how they improve over the year.
As an added bonus this year our youngest son is coaching the middle school team.
In middle school all I like to see is the kids realize they can do it and then watch them get better.
