NW Wisconsin
X2 Corn alfalfa rotation here dont plant beans because of the yield predictability with it. In an area that averages 30+ inches of precip a year and so moisture isnt much of an issue but it tends to get dry in august right when you want beans to grow. Also deer can maul beans off and they dont grow fast enough to outgrow the damage like corn can. Plus when I combine i just let the cows out on it for free feed and manure spreading. I can consistantly grow 180 bushel corn. Beans are anywhere from 25-70... Have SWM bad because of canning beans in the area on top of unrelenting deer. 1-2 deer per acre of field.
