Embarrass WI | My experience parallels John Burns’s. My wife put up with my snoring, I could sit in a chair and nap on a moments notice, I was constantly fighting falling asleep while driving or operating equipment.
Finally went for a sleep study, probably 15 years ago or more. After about 2 hours, they fitted me with a CPAP and I slept the rest of the night. It was a life changer for me. Since I’ve had my machine, I mostly sleep all night. I used to have to get up to pee 3-4 times per night, after I got on the CPAP I seldom wake up overnight for any reason.
My current machine is probably 5-6 years old, I get my replacement parts off the internet. It’s my first autoset unit, works well 99.9% of the time. A couple times a year it will peg out the pressure until I turn it off and back on.
I picked up a backup unit from a guy who had stomach cancer and lost 150 lbs. He didn’t need it anymore. I’ve seen them listed on Craigslist and Facebook from time to time, you could pick one up and try it without involving a doctor. | |
