WC Ind. | I have had a CPAP machine for about 5 years. I had been getting very sleepy all day long and wife said my snoring was getting worse. I denied most of the symptoms, until I found myself going 70 miles an hour down an interstate only about 6 inches from the side of a semi trailer. I had fallen asleep without realizing it. It has been a life changer. I have one that just has the piece under your nose at night. I could not do the face mask unit. Too claustrophobic. I get calls from the company about every 6 months wanting to sell me new parts for the headgear. This appears to me to be a racket as the parts are hugely overpriced and very seldom do I need any. Mine are covered under Medicare and supplement, but still is a racket. There has been much discussion about cleaning the units. I use nothing but distilled water and have not cleaned mine in over a year without any problems. I let the humidifier tank run dry once in while during the night to help. I had to laugh the other night while watching tv. There was a Generac commercial and the fellow was recommending it because he was able to run his "life saving cpap machine" while the electricity was out. Not sure they are that critical to my existence. I find mine very helpful and would recommend you get one if needed. | |
