Subject: RE: Old school fall tillage

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
I spent much time on an "M", ours was not an "MTA". No TA or live PTO. No power steering either.

It appears that this one has the fender "improvement" kit. Dad made our fender improvement kit out of oak. Each fender was bolted to a piece of oak which was attached to the holes in the axle with some long bolts and spacers to raise it up.

Dad also made platform improvement kit. It consisted of a piece of angle iron that went across the rear of the rear housing. A piece of wood was bolted to the angle iron on each side and was cut with a band saw to match the curve of the rear platform that came with the tractor. Some Z shaped brackets were attached to the front portion of each piece of wood and bolted on the drawbar brackets for support in front. This increased the size of the platform considerably. As I recall both these "improvements" needed to be removed to accommodate the rear section of the crop cultivator but were reinstalled once cultivation season was over.

Dad's platform improvement kit might not work out on an MTA due to the TA and PTO linkage being in that general area.

Our "M" was seldom washed and never saw any wax.
