Most guys do not have and excess water problem they have a lack of infiltration problem. healthy soil should have 25% water holding capacity and it should have several inches of water infiltration rate that you will be able to repeat fairly soon . plus have good percolation. Most black dirt corn and soybean fields are lacking the 25% air and 25% water capacity.

100% modern farming and tiling is having an effect on how our water gets into the ground versus how it used to.
