Well they are wrong. My goodness we're getting 230 on 70% of that.



The claim on needing 25" is for total water usage by the crop, which includes plant available moisture in the soil profile.


What has your total precipitation been since Sept 1, 2022 (change it to Oct 1, 2022 if you prefer) ?

I'm guessing its a lot more than 17.5", more likely 30"+.

Granted not everything that falls soaks in or can even be held by the soil, but I'd guess you can hold at least 5" maybe up to 10" in the profile that is available to corn roots.
