southern MN | Yea, I would rarely want 7 inches in a month on my clay! Those are the bad years.... The sands west of me or a fair ways north of me they might actually get a good crop for a change with 7 inches a month.
Funny how different it is, when we all do the same thing; poke a hole in the ground drop a seed in and wait for harvest time.
In my back yard was hot dry weather when corn yield is determined. Ugh. Beans looked dead were ankle high when we got 3 rains of an inch each in August. Beans look great from the road, but sure are green and have a ways to go. Not sure how many pods and how big a seed will end up from this unusual year.
