NW Ohio
We do a rotation of in-line ripping each field every 2-3 years with an Unverferth Subsoiler. It has definitely helped with compaction in our tight clay soils and improved fields overall as a whole. We do it in the fall and I think it helps with water retention as we seem to fair better at dry times. I think every year might be excessive but there are more people out there with more experience than we have.
