| i have two corrals. One has a 10' alley to load trailer and the other has a single file alley out of the tub. Much easier to load a 24' trailer by yourself out of the alley. The alley has gates about 12' apart hung on opposite sides so can always keep cattle in front of a gate.
Cannot get enough cattle at one time through the tub for a trailer load. Either need to gate off, have someone operate slider while I get another half a load, or rig up a rope that will open slider from the tub that you can open when you get the second half in the tub.
I prefer to load out of the alley but sometimes with 4-6 wt calves can be a problem to get them to start onto the trailer and that is no problem in the single alley system. | |
