NW IA | I am looking at a tub with the "corner-less" gate option.
If I do this the plan would be to go to the chute and head-gate through one door and the trailer through the other.
Backing the trailer up to the tub would require loading through the sliding door on the rear of the trailer. We have always swung the whole door open and loaded in an 8 foot wide alley. Having a gate about 10 feet from the trailer helps, but it's not as secure as the ratcheting swing gate on the tubs.
Does anyone use the sliding door to load, and how does it compare to using the whole back door?
Part of my objective is to avoid being in the trailer with the critters. Even though we rarely have a crazy one, getting kicked or pushed back when locking the front 4 in can be an issue. So, does anyone just fill the trailer and go without shutting the center gate?
I am also concerned about how often cattle mill in the tub and get suck without finding the exit.
Looking for loading that is safe for me and not confusing for the animals.
Thanks
