We call it poke salad, I’ve never eaten it, but before my time it was eaten here in NC, it has a large tap root or multiple tap roots
Lots still eaten here. I see the older generation still picking it from time to time. I'm amazed that people have it growing out in their fields though. It's always found on ditchbanks and outer areas of fields but never in the fields, here anyways..
