I would say...more waste from rings. Cows will "graze" an unrolled bale that's assuming you can hit the sweet spot of cows hungry but not starving and losing weight.

Rings will destroy the pasture where you set them. Are you going to move rings every day? I haven't seen anybody that uses rings...being that ambitious.

Unroll in different spot every day, get the manure spread around. If done right your pasture could be better for it.

And years like this....is why hay management (waste) drives guys crazy on here seeing Jim's cows lay on perfectly good feed in normal years.
