SE IL and SW IN | You have made the argument for me in a couple of areas, and you are correct that it will not pay in the short-term rental world where you live.
I understand that for you and really most of us to adopt a program prescribed by your "hair on fire" friends, one of the following must happen.
The landlord must demand that these actions be taken as part of the lease. Most will give lip service, but demand top rent.
Federal government will demand that certain guidelines be followed, maybe tied to crop insurance, or simply by edict.
University system gets off their butts and do the research necessary to make a "soil health" system work. What really needs to be done, but not gonna happen.
A few will figure it out, some adding real dollars to their bottom line. Most will continue to watch as SOM is depleted further, soil is carried down the river, and millions of tax dollars will be laundered in the name of "soil health". | |
