se wi | Topsoil here has a value of $30 per ton. That is what I was charged for a quad axle recently. Full till fields without covers lose around 4 tons per acre per year or more on average. Look it up. No-till fields with covers lose a quarter ton per acre per year....$7.50 loss. Do the math! $120-7.50=112.50.....so every year on every acre the no-till field with covers is already $112.50 ahead of the full till field without cover.. Not to mention all other benefits like weed control and infiltration rate. CHA-CHING! Recognize and capitalize on the cover benefits....not just plant and terminate....duh!!
