For those that actually farm have you noticed that when you go into report acres planted, they pull up your file with areal maps of all the land you farm with every field size to the 1 hundredth of an acre (like 147.37 acres). From what I could tell the pictures are from the summer before. Plus, if the help happens to plant into the buffer strip way on the back of the farm by July, you're getting a call requiring you to fix the encroachment.
If they know all this why are making big acreage changes September crop reports?
Would today be such a sad emotional day for undersold farmers if they had dropped 800,000 acres because farmers left a 3' gap between the crop and buffer strips? |
