NWIL
I've got a nice 2500 inline ripper. Got it likely 10-12 years ago. It's sat for the last six years or so as for the previous few years everywhere I'd run it the fall before I was greatly disappointed in the outcome the next growing season. Those areas dried out too quick on me anytime there was the slightest dry spell and I ended up with a lot of nubbins on the corn or small beans in the pods. This involved me going from whole fields, to partial fields, to just the endrows where trucks got loaded. Now I don't even touch that. Every field gets trucks loaded in the same spot, they kept getting harder and harder if ripping those spots each fall.

This is a total my soils, my area, my management practices thing. Your mileage may vary. I haven't gotten rid of it as there may come a day when I play with it again, but it won't be this fall.
