I quit ripping years ago and only chisel what corn ground is going back into corn again which isn't much anymore. Bean ground gets lightly disked and leveled off with field cultivator in fall,stale plant that into corn. Cornstalks going into beans next year,leave 1/2 for no-till and rest gets disked and stale planted next spring. Neighbor ran around ripping all his bean ground last fall when it was dry and then couldn't get on it this spring to plant corn because it was too spongy and wet underneath cutting ruts everywhere,where as I was planting next to his with no problem.
