I was taught to rip. I’ve been ripping every year for awhile. Some fields I’ve been leaving out because of a gas pipeline going across them (and haven’t seen a yield hit but only been growing beans on them) This year I’m going to skip it. It’s been really dry at harvest and not much compaction getting the crop out. I think it depends on the soils and where you are probably. But also yea I think you can over rip ground but you’d be hard pressed to find someone one around here say it unless they are talking about heavy gumbo dirt where it can get too soft in spring to plant early if you rip. I’ve double ripped ground like that before and it was def a mistake
