Central Indiana | So been told that ripping every year is not recommended by people over the years. Traditional disc ripping I can see messing up the soil structure ripping every year I understand that part of it. The soil needs to lay occasionally to let microbes and earthworms do their jobs. Now what about in-line ripping? I personally can’t find the harm in lifting the profile and setting it back down without disturbing the structure of the soil. Dad is a little leery of ripping everything again this year since we’ve ripped for a couple years now. Only downside I can see is making the dirt too loose and mellow and allowing compaction issues to appear easier if spring conditions aren’t perfect. What’s everyone’s experience or thoughts on ripping more specifically inline ripping every year? | |
