A lot of variables this year that will impact yield. 1) Planting Date will be the biggest factor, earlier planted corn looks great and was able to handle June Drought much better. Later planted corn had trouble emerging due to soil moisture inconsistencies so you see a lot of variable ear heights and sizes within the same row. 2) Nitrogen program will be the next biggest factor, 100% pre-plant N corn has quite a bit of tip back and limited kernel depth. Corn that was side-dressed or later season N apps looks really good and did a much better job retaining kernels. I think yields will be all over the place this year but I know I'll see some 250+ bu corn over there this year.
