Ohio | Pokeweed or Pokeberry.
Don't run them through the combine with soybeans! Elevator will think they are seed treatments and reject the load, the berry juice will stain the soybeans red.
I don't know if they're poisonous? But birds eat them and pooped the seeds out over the fields for next year.
Ever seen purple bird poop? Starlings are the worst in the machinery sheds.
I googled it and the berries are poisonous, the leaves and stems are edible. I also found that it can give you a rash like poison ivy if you touch it. I question this as I have grabed them and pulled them out, I correct that , cut them off at the ground with a shovel, can't pull them out, big tap root. Never got a rash.
