When EV's get to a reasonable price an ordinary working consumer can afford, they will probably sell. But until they know if a local charger is available or can afford to have one installed at home for around $1200 by a licensed electrician! Then add the cost of the new vehicle RV tax. You can drive your old Ice car for a yr or more at this cost. Then add in the extra high-priced tires, and high insurance>>>>>>>> Where does it end????? Don't forget your house insurance if you have an attached garage, it may cost more for an Ev because of known battery fires. Not if?, but when?
????
My car came with a charger and just wired a 4 prong 50 amp service in the garage to plug it into. Plug it in the evening and by 3:30 am it is charged for another day on a Chevy Bolt. No where near the cost to charge as you say but it isn't part of the standard charging system either. Very good for the majority of our running around except for a long trip that we have other options. |
