Folks are out of town, so I took a beef to the locker for them. Usually weigh at the local coop. Well, they forgot to turn around the scale so it could be seen through the window. The locker weighs the halves but they don't have live scales.
Anyway how do I convert the live price to hanging weight price?
Calf weighed 838 total. Wasn't a huge beef but a nice corn fed steer.
He sold it for 1.86 /# live.
60-62% of live weight is where most of mine come in at (colored steers/heifers).
