Nw iowa | I had 2 new hydrant put in roughly at same time. 1” water lines to both on the same 1” line. Farthest one away has more water flow than the closest 1. Done them at the same time. So the question is why would the 1 that is farthest 1 from the rural water connection have more pressure then the closer one. Both are y3/4 hydrants. All 1” 250 lb plastic line. Water was run thru before connection to clean out water line. Both in rock at the bottom and I don’t want the dig up because it’s not in a convenient place to do so. I think I should take the head off with water off then pull rod and plunger out and turn water back on to blow anything that could slow the water flow because there is crap restriction in bottom valve. Never pulled the guts out of one yet but it’s the only thing I can think of. I should have used 1” hydrants but they weren’t available at the time when this was done. The closest waterline was dug in with a backhoe and the farthest line was bored because of its an older site where the backhoe made sense for part and the farthest was bored because of obstacles in the way. I hope this makes sense and Tia. | |
