| Up here it usually goes Corn, Soybeans, Wheat. A lot of people underseed red clover in the wheat to add organic matter and some N for following corn crop. Works pretty well here having wheat in the rotation. As other poster said wheat responds to phosphorus. Try and get it in row if you can. Most people with air seeders or drills will put down MAP with it. We’ve done 10-34-0 and 6-24-6. Wheat is also a major N user. We usually dribble on 28% with some ATS using the sprayer and streamer nozzles in the spring. Usually shoot for 120 lbs actual or so and with the right variety can hit over 100 bushels.
Planting date for us is Oct. 1 but not sure what it would be for Nebraska. | |
