I understand what you are saying. There was a time when unions were necessary. However, we have reached a time when human nature has taken over. The old adage, "given them an inch and they'll take a mile" is being lived out before us. Unions operate under the same system as Communism. When people are going to receive the same "reward" whether they work or not they will do only that which is an absolute requirement. Thus, the unions have devolved to the point where the members do only the minimum to keep from getting fired. At least, that's been my experience. I'm sure, at least I hope, there are exceptions.
