Anyone have experience with Massey 2606H or 2806M? Debating an upgrade for various reasons. Been using a MF 165 and IH 584 in orchard setting but both are broke down more than operating. Need 55 hp to pull harvester. Currently don’t have a smaller loader for cleaning barns but would also use in moving hay, loading supersacks, and piling prunings. Price on both seems to be the same. 2600 series looks like older masseys but also doesn’t look as user friendly for loader work. Thanks

You just summed it up.

The 2606H is the newest version of your MF 165. Better hydraulics, better shifting, but still has a Synchro Shuttle you have to clutch to shift. Rugged, Heavy duty tractor, but not as many creature comforts.

I'm assuming the other is a MF 2860M, which is the biggest compact tractor. It will give up weight, but is still a very heavy built unit for it's size, and will be a MUCH nicer tractor to run and drive everyday. They come with a Power Shuttle, so no clutching to reverse AND no clutch to wear like the 2606H.

We sell both, customers like both, but if I'm spending my money for loader work, I'm buying the 2860M. If it's for heavy disking, ground working, dragging heavy wagons, etc, then maybe I'd buy the 2606H. Depends on how much I'm doing each task
