Saronville NE | From planting time to end of harvest normal would be 40 hours in in 3 days or less. On a post in a different forum on here guy was being sarcastic about the positives of a drought. I can tell you this yr has been extremely stressful had to start pivots up about 3 days after planting and were still pumping it's been a extremely long summer. With that and dry lotting cows and having feedlot full along with everything else is pretty normal to have 12-16 hr days for 7 months of the yr 8-10 hr the rest of yr.
Yes I've worked off farm too. I get it it's different because it's not your business, no different then you shouldn't expect the hired man to do anything that you wouldn't do yourself or work way crazier hours then you do. It's not there business they don't get the extra perks behind the scenes.
